Yu-Gi-Oh Creator Kazuki Takahashi Passes Away

Sad news came from the manga creator who became one of the biggest TCG games, Kazuki Takahashi. He passed away on the Morning of July 6, 2022 in Okinawa, Japan.

Reported by NHK, the Japanese coast guard found Takahashi on the coast of the city of Nago, Okinawa. He was using snorkel gear when he was found. The police and coast guard are investigating this incident.

The body was found by a ship passing along the coast. The ship contacted Maritime Japan to report that they found the body 300 meters off the coast of Nago on Wednesday at 10:30 am local time.

According to the coast guard who was at the scene, there were no scars on Takahashi’s body. The Japanese police and coast guard are still investigating how he died.

Kazuki Takahashi, whose real name is Kazuo Takahashi, is the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh manga which was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004. The manga is a well-known franchise and has created very popular anime, toys, and card games.

Takahashi received the Inkpot Award from Comic-Con International in July 2015. This award is awarded for outstanding contributions to comics, fiction, fantasy, and animation that Takahashi has worked on.
