BLACKPINK is gearing up for a comeback in the near future. YG Entertainment revealed that the girl group is currently filming a new music video for BLACKPINK’s comeback in August 2022.
The agency also said that all processes currently taking place are in accordance with BLACKPINK’s comeback schedule.
“The biggest production cost ever incurred. All processes went smoothly because they were carefully prepared under a careful plan,” YG Entertainment said as reported by News1 via Naver, Tuesday (26/7).

In early July 2022, YG Entertainment confirmed BLACKPINK’s comeback plans. Not only that, the agency also announced plans for a world tour of the group consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa.
As reported by YTN via Naver on Wednesday (6/7), YG Entertainment said the girl group was in the finalization stage of recording their latest album.
“A lot of music that reflects BLACKPINK has been completed with a lot of effort over a long period of time,” said a YG Entertainment representative. The agency also confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will be greeting many fans in person with the BLACKPINK world tour.

“To expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans around the world, they will be carrying out the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback,” the agency said.
“Furthermore, major projects befitting that status will continue to follow.” YG Entertainment’s confirmation marks BLACKPINK’s first comeback plan in almost two years, after releasing THE ALBUM in 2020 with the title song How You Like That and the special collaboration song Ice Cream.

The confirmation was also delivered a few months since BLACKPINK was rumored to be making a comeback. In April 2022, sources said BLACKPINK was preparing with a new album as soon as June 2022.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK last appeared to greet fans in a virtual concert titled The Show on December 27, 2020. The concert was broadcast on YouTube Music with access that can be obtained on a number of online services. In that concert, they brought hit songs as well as all the songs from THE ALBUM.
