The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought a lot of things over the last nearly two decades. They managed to make cool films which are adaptations of comics by the late Stan Lee, presenting extraordinary and epic battles.
Features some powerful heroes and even more powerful villains, but they are nothing without their weapons.
Throughout the film’s release, the MCU has featured many weapons used by heroes and villains. Not infrequently these weapons have tremendous power that can have a very large effect. Here are the 10 most powerful weapons that are present in the MCU film franchise.
Nano Gauntlet
The Nano Gauntlet was created by Tony Stark, Bruce Banner and Rocket Raccoon after they time-traveled to retrieve the Infinity Stones from the past. The Nano Gauntlet was used by the Hulk to bring all the victims of Thanos’ snap back. Reused by Iron Man to destroy Thanos’ army.
The Nano Gauntlet was created to house and arm the Infinity Stones to restore half the population of the universe. Many risks arise from the use of the Nano Gauntlet, it is because of the strong nano technology.
Although it cannot contain all the power of the Infinity Stones, the Nano Gauntlet can adapt to the size of the user’s hand, making it more flexible.
Infinity Gauntlet
Created by the Dwarves of Nidavellir, the Infinity Gauntlet was first seen in the post-credits scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Made for Thanos, it’s a massive glove designed to house and arm all six Infinity Stones.
Made of Uru metal, the Infinity Gauntlet is strong enough to hold the Infinity Stones. After the six Infinity Stones, it means that the power of the Infinity Stones can be used by the user.
The Infinity Gauntlet gives the user full power over reality, souls, minds, time, power and space stones, making Thanos the ultimate power in the universe. However, the gauntlet was unable to withstand the near-fatal effects of the Snap as it nearly killed Thanos.
Ten Rings
It’s still a mystery where this weapon came from, The Ten Rings has quickly become one of the most powerful weapons in the MCU. After being possessed by Xu Wenwu, he used the ring to conquer several civilizations over the centuries and found the notorious evil organization with the same name as his weapon.
The Ten Rings are capable of producing a powerful burst of energy and becoming a shield. When combined with Wenwu’s and Shang-Chi’s superior martial arts skills, the ring aids the user with punches, kicks, and moves. The ring gives its owner strength, speed and longevity.
Able to deflect bullets, arrows, and melee weapons. Shang-Chi is capable of producing extremely powerful explosions, used to kill Dweller-In-Darkness, a creature with extraordinary ancient powers.
Stormbreaker
Originally designed as a weapon for the King of Asgard, Stormbreaker was designed by the Dwarves of Nidavellir. Half hammer, half battle axe, this weapon is forged by Eitri, Thor and Rocket before Groot grows his arm and forms it into a handle.
Thor uses Stormbreaker in the battle of Wakanda and against Thanos. Stormbreaker is able to channel and amplify Thor’s storm power. Stormbreaker can also summon Bifrost and teleport Thor and his friends across the universe.
Stormbreaker is sharp enough to stab Thanos and decapitate him and strong enough to deflect a direct blast from the Infinity Stones.
Necroswords
The goddess of death, Hela, is Odin’s daughter and Thor’s sister. Hela helped Odin conquer the Nine Realms before becoming a power-hungry person. Hela was able to produce a seemingly infinite stream of Necroswords, black swords made of an unknown material.
Necroswords were extremely sharp, able to easily pierce through Asgardian bodies and Surtur’s giant bodies. Hela seems to be able to produce all kinds of melee weapons including swords, daggers, spears, and axes. There seemed to be very little that Necroswords couldn’t damage.
This sword was again used by Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder. The Necroswords were in control of what Gorr did.
Mjolnir
The legendary hammer wielded by Thor, Mjolnir was his trusted companion throughout the Thor films, the first two Avengers films and hundreds of years before that. Originally used by Hela, Mjolnir was forged by the Dwarves in Nidavellir and is virtually indestructible after a spell cast by Odin himself.
Mjolnir grants electrical manipulation and extraordinary strength and durability to its user. Only those who are worthy can gain the power of Mjolnir.
The electricity from Mjolnir was able to subdue Thanos, damage Ultron and destroy the Chitauri Leviathan. Mjolnir’s power was enough to repulse The Destroyer, Thanos, and Laufey the Frost Giant.
Chitauri Scepter
Seen in the first two Avengers films, the Chitauri Scepter is a weapon given to Loki by Thanos. It was a symbol of power and Loki used that weapon to lead the Chitauri in an attack on New York City.
As a place to place the Mind Stone, the Chitauri Scepter can fire a very destructive explosion, capable of destroying a car in one shot. Made of durable alien metal, the Chitauri Scepter is strong enough to hold the Infinity Stones and match Mjolnir in close combat.
The Chitauri Scepter can brainwash almost anyone it touches, this happens when Loki influences Hawkeye and Dr Selvig to help him carry out his plans. It was a lethal and manipulative weapon powered by the Infinity Stones.
Hadron Enforcer
First appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy, the Hadron Enforcer is a weapon created by Rocket Raccoon in his quest to save Peter Quill and Gamora from the Ravagers. The weapon was later used in attacks against Ronan the Accuser and the Kree.
According to Rocket Raccoon, the Hadron Enforcer has the power to destroy the moon. One shot consists of many hadron particles, the shot is capable of damaging and destroying people and property. The Hadron Enforcer is able to destroy the Warhammer Ronan which is filled with the power of the Power Stone.
Thanos Sword
Long before Thanos acquired the Infinity Gauntlet and destroyed the universe, he wielded a great double-edged sword in his quest to conquer the world and obtain the Infinity Stones. The sword was almost as tall as Thanos with two long blades made of metal.
Thanos is a skilled fighter with his sword, able to fight Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor all at once. The blade pierced Thor’s chest and parried blows from Mjolnir and Stormbreaker. The blade is also very sharp, with his sword Thanos is able to pierce Captain America’s vibranium shield.
Black Panther Suit
Made by Shuri, the Black Panther suit is a powerful suit worn by Black Panther. The first version of this suit appeared in Captain America: Civil War, but the new version introduced in Black Panther looks more powerful.
Worn by T’Challa and made of vibranium, an almost indestructible metal, the Black Panther suit is truly flexible with full body coverage and sharp claws. However, Shuri modifies the suit to store kinetic energy and redistribute it, generating a massive energy wave that can be unleashed on the enemy.
