As “Elemental” hits theaters on Friday, Disney and Pixar unveiled the trailer for the latter’s 28th feature “Elio.”
For centuries people have called out to the universe in search of answers – in “Elio” the universe calls back.
The original feature features Elio, an underdog child with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently teleported to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from distant galaxies.
Misidentified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe due to a misinterpreted phone call to his workaholic mother, Elio is completely unprepared for this kind of pressure. He must forge new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials, and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.
The cast includes America Ferrera as Olga, Elio’s mother; Jameela Jamil as Questa Ambassador; Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon; and Yonas Kibreab as the main character.
The film is directed by Adrian Molina (screenwriter and co-director of “Coco”), and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (“Coco” associate producer).
“Elio” hits theaters on March 1, 2024.
