Taika Waititi says he has a really good idea for his Star Wars movie

In a recent interview with THRTaika Waititi says he has a very good idea for his next star wars movie. In a fairly wide-ranging interview, of course, we didn’t talk much about a star wars movie, we don’t have a date or title yet. It is therefore not surprising that he only says a few words about the film.

The latest on this film was from Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. KK stated that Taika is still writing the script and does not have a third act yet. She insisted that he will have time to write the script well before giving it the go-ahead for filming. As for those recent comments from Waititi himself, see for yourself.

“I have a very good idea for that,” he said. “It’s like in all films, it’s this middle part. You’re like, ‘What’s going to happen?’ And then you watch all these movies that are so great, you’re like, “Well, I guess they can’t meet a smuggler with an alien sidekick.”

I wouldn’t take Taika’s comment about a smuggler and his alien sidekick too seriously. I’m also not saying we won’t see that in the movie. It’s just, well, Waititi can be quirky at the best of times, so you sometimes wonder if he’s kidding or not. I tend to find when I wonder this, he is.

Unfortunately, we really don’t have any details on what this movie might entail, Taika Dreams. When will it take place? Will it bring out the Force? Will there be characters we know or is it completely new? No answers yet, and we probably won’t until Waititi completes the script. I wish he would hurry, but the man has been incredibly busy for the past few years, so I’m going to give him some time.

What do you think Taika Waititi says he has a really good idea for his next star wars movie? As always, share your thoughts below.
