On the promotional track of her acting work in Indiana Jones and the Dial of FatePhoebe Waller-Bridge confirms that she is developing the tomb Raider series for Amazon Prime. That doesn’t mean Waller-Bridge will play Lara Croft, rather it’s the writer/producer who works behind the camera. It was previously reported that Waller-Bridge will write and executive produce the series for Amazon. What I would probably call showrunner, but that’s not always the term used these days.
Talk with IGN the talented Waller-Bridge explained how she arrived tomb Raider. Speaking specifically about how his experiences making a IndianaJones movie and write a james bond movie have to help him with tomb Raider. I mean tomb Raider It’s kind of like Indy and James Bond had a kid named Lara after all.
“There’s so much I can integrate,” Waller-Bridge began. “I mean, the character of Lara Croft was inspired by Indiana Jones and James Bond. So there’s so much going on, and it felt like the perfect last step on my own personal journey through that kind of franchise world. .

“I love the idea of, as Steven Spielberg describes it, the greatest show on Earth, like being able to do things on that scale and have adventures that big and the comedy and the heart to match but on that genre very, very good level, and, in fact, through all the adventures that I have learned from these [franchises], it’s actually how to keep something grounded and allow it to be bigger than itself in some way. And I hope everything translates perfectly, seamlessly into tomb Raider.”
tomb Raider is in early development. That means we don’t yet have a timeline, cast, or anything beyond Waller Bridge.
