Indiana Jones 5 injury left Harrison Ford sidelined for weeks

Making “Dial of Destiny” seems to have been almost as difficult as Harrison Ford’s injury-plagued career. The film was delayed multiple times before Disney announced it was pushing the release back to October 2021 as part of its plans to delay its entire slate to 2022. At that time, the film had only recently regained stardom after Ford had to leave production due to a shoulder injury. some time.

In June 2021, it was revealed that Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for “Indiana Jones 5”. Then, in October 2021, Ford was pictured returning to the set. But it seems the whole debacle cost the production some time, despite director James Mangold continuing to film other scenes in Ford’s absence. Speaking to Variety, the star revealed that he had the subscapularis muscle removed from his right shoulder, causing production to stop for two weeks. And even after filming resumed, Ford was forced to rest for another six weeks, meaning the injury essentially cost him two months of filming.

Fortunately, the 80-year-old seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing, telling the outlet, “I’ve also been known to shut down movies because I hurt myself, which isn’t something. something you want to be known for. But hey, shit happens.”

Indeed it is, Harrison Ford. Hopefully the lukewarm early response to “Dial of Destiny” doesn’t mean you’ll be right again when the movie hits theaters on June 30, 2023.
