Roadshow Films has premiered the second trailer for “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” the oddly titled sequel to 2020’s well-regarded Australian rural noir thriller “The Dry.”
The first film was an adaptation of Jane Harper’s novel of the same name. Harper has written three books so far with the same main character Australian Federal Agent Aaron Falk. Each has him investigate a different case.
This adapts the second book, “Force of Nature” with Eric Bana reprising the role he played in “The Dry” with Robert Connolly returning as director and screenwriter.
In the new film, five female colleagues take part in a corporate hiking retreat in the Victorian mountain ranges – only four come out on the other side. Each of the missing woman’s companions tells a slightly different story about what happened.
Falk and Agent Carmen Cooper (Jacqueline McKenzie) travel deep into the forest and remote mountains to investigate and hopefully find the missing hiker – Alice Russell (Anna Torv) – a corporate whistleblower who was their informant.
Deborah-Lee Furness, Richard Roxburgh, Robin McLeavy, Sisi Stringer, Lucy Ansell, Jeremy Lindsay-Taylor, Tony Briggs and Kenneth Radley co-star in the film, which hits Australian cinemas on August 24.
