The highly anticipated global launch of EA SPORTS™ F1 23 has arrived, the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship™. Available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam, the game promises an immersive experience for gamers. With improved handling, incorporating feedback from real F1® teams and revolutionary Precision Drive™ technology for pad play, players can look forward to a truly authentic racing adventure as they take on any team and any drivers throughout the 2023 season, including the thrilling Las Vegas Sprint Circuit and Losail International Circuit in Qatar.
A standout feature of F1 23 is the return of the popular scenario mode, “Braking Point”. This mode features a cast of new fan-favorite characters, including upstart Aidan Jackson and rival Devon Butler. The final chapter takes players on a journey as the duo become teammates with new racing team Konnersport Butler. However, their aspirations are challenged by Callie Mayer, the first woman to win the F2 world championship, who is eager to make her mark in the glamorous world of Formula 1. Choices and actions on and off the track will shape performance and Reputation Levels, bonus objective unlocks, and rewards throughout two challenging seasons.
F1 23 has everything players love about competing for the World Championship and propels them further into the world of Formula 1. We are connecting more players this season through F1 World, providing timely new challenges throughout the 2023 season and a new safety rating system designed to promote healthy and respectful multiplayer competition. Whether racing on a steering wheel or on a pad, players will immediately feel in control thanks to feedback implemented by real F1 drivers. Our Precision Drive controller technology will revolutionize pad play and give gamers a better sense of what it’s like to handle some of the fastest vehicles in motorsport.
Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather expressed his excitement for the game
The introduction of “F1 World” is another significant improvement in F1 23. This feature serves as a hub for single and multiplayer experiences, giving drivers different ways to engage in the sport they love. F1 World offers daily, weekly and seasonal content linked to the real Formula 1 calendar, allowing newcomers to familiarize themselves with the world of Formula 1 and improve their skills before aiming for the podiums. The hub is also home to beloved modes such as Grand Prix and Time Trial, as well as a new progression system that unlocks car upgrades, liveries, racing suits and helmets. The safety rating system in F1 World promotes fair and competitive racing by matching like-minded racers. The revised ranked mode features cars of equal performance, highlighting driver ability and incorporating a division-based system with promotion and relegation.
Taking player feedback into account, F1 23 introduces the inclusion of 35% race distance, previously only available in the Formula 1 Esports Series, adding more strategic elements to the race weekend. The game features all 23 circuits of the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, including real life updates reflecting the current season. Additionally, three additional tracks – Paul Ricard in France, Shanghai in China and Portimão in Portugal – are available for F1 and F2 events. F1 23 also features enhanced game modes such as Career, My Team and Leagues, accessible via EA Racenet.
