This weekend saw the latest trailer for Dune: part two, which I added below. However, since it dropped Deadline And Collider report that a Dune: part three is planned and will adapt the Dune: Messiah IF book Second part is a success. Second part as many know this is the second half of the original Dunes novel. Therefore, it is a bit strange that Dunes is split into two films, but an equally huge novel is being adapted in this one.
Of course, perhaps there will be elements of the Messiah deposited in Second part to help with that? For now, who knows? However, the outlet says this is the current plan IF Second part is as successful as part one was. The original report for this was from Deadline, however, they don’t say much. Collider covers the storyline much better in my opinion and probably heard the same details.
Now, it’s been reaffirmed by Deadline that director Denis Villeneuve intends to top off his Dunes trilogy in a spectacular way, delving deeper into the work of Frank Herbert with an adaptation of dune messiah.
The third part will continue the saga and should be co-written by Villeneuve and screenwriter Jon Spaihts. Although the studio has yet to officially announce the active development of part three, fans can remain hopeful for the completion of this visionary trilogy. it is not the first time dune messiah was adapted for the screen of course, with the 2003 miniseries Children of Dune drawing heavily from the novel.
Naturally, the fate of Dune: part two and the sequel trilogy will depend on its box office performance.

As said above, here is this new trailer for Second part. I liked the first one Dunes movie, so I can’t wait to Second part.
As Collider points out, part one did really well when released during the pandemic. I expect all but a few of those who watched it to have recommended it to friends. I guess even more have checked it out via streaming and pay per view now too. So I predict Second part will get a higher box office take than the premiere. However, I am no box office expert.
Whether Second part nails it, so I’d be eager to see part three. However, I have to admit that (for me) the series got weirder and weirder as it went on.
What do you think as Dune: part three is planned and will adapt the Dune: Messiah IF book Second part is a success? Thoughts below as always.
