Bradley Cooper and Will Arnett are teaming up for “Is This Thing On?”, a new film in early development from Searchlight that will mark Cooper’s next directorial effort.
The two are set to co-star in the film while Arnett wrote the screenplay with Mark Chappell. The pair handed in a draft before the writers’ strike began, and Cooper will likely attempt the script with the writer’s after the strike ends.
Story details are being kept under wraps with production by Cooper, Arnett and Kris Thykier. It’s not even clear what genre the film belongs to, let alone the subject matter.
Cooper, a nine-time Oscar nominee, is currently in post-production on Leonard Bernstein’s biopic “Maestro” — a follow-up gig to his Oscar-winning film “A Star Is Born.”
Cooper stars, directed, produces and co-wrote the screenplay with the film which is expected to be a major player this awards season.
Arnett will soon be seen on “SmartLess: On The Road Documentary” which follows the North American tour of his hit podcast, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman.
Arnett produces and lends his voice to Peacock’s upcoming series “Twisted Metal” which will be released next month and co-stars in Taika Waititi’s “Next Goal Wins” slated for this fall.
