
Apple TV+ has canceled its Patricia Arquette-led series “High Desert” after just one season that ended about two weeks ago.
The series premiered the first three episodes of its first season on May 17, and new weekly episodes continued through June 21.
Former “Medium” and “Severance” star Arquette helmed the series as Peggy Newman, a drug addict who aims to start a sober new life in the Yucca Valley desert where she becomes a private detective.
Brad Garrett, Weruche Opia and Rupert Friend co-starred. Arquette broke the news of the cancellation in an Instagram video, saying:
“A lot of you have been asking about ‘High Desert’ and if there was going to be a second season, so I just wanted to let you know that we just found out that we won’t be coming back. It’s a sad disappointment. for all of us.
The actress expressed her gratitude to the team, writers and cast of the series. Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford and Jennifer Hoppe have served as writers and creators.
