What if we were a big sitcom for aliens?
In the romantic comedy Unseen Hand Landscape, aliens watch the human race for pure entertainment after an alien invasion. Now, a young couple have hatched a plan to earn extra income for themselves by broadcasting their relationship on a futuristic social media platform.
Based on the novel by MT Anderson, Cory Finley wrote and directed the delightful film which stars Asante Blackk, Kylie Rogers and Tiffany Haddish.
Here is the official synopsis of Unseen Hand Landscape:
After years of benevolent alien occupation of Earth, the human race is still adjusting to the new world order and its eccentric, coffee-table-sized overlords called the Vuvv. Their flashy cutting-edge technology initially held promise for global prosperity, but made most human jobs – and stable incomes – obsolete. When 17-year-old artist Adam Campbell (Asante Blackk) and his new girlfriend Chloe Marsh (Kylie Rogers) discover that the Vuvvs are particularly fascinated by human love and will pay for access to it, they decide to live-stream their budding romance to earn extra money. for themselves and their families. Life is good, for a while, until the flame of their teenage love is extinguished and they are forced to make very different and absurdly heartbreaking sacrifices for their families.
With the good buzz from the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, Unseen Hand Landscape should be an independent movie to watch on screen.
Unseen Hand Landscape hits theaters August 18.
