Stassi Schröder confessed that her National Holiday “Outfit of the Day” cost her $40,000.
“I bought on a holiday, what a waste of money. Honestly, it’s so cringe-worthy,” the former Vanderpump Rules star, 34, revealed during the Wednesday, June 14 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
In 2018, Schroeder decided to create the vacation based on his popular #OOTD social media posts. The idea was inspired by her daily routine where she would show off her look and encourage her followers to do the same. According to the Bravo alum, she explained that she had to buy the date — which was June 30 — because “you don’t just get your own vacation for free.”
“I think it was like $40,000,” she confessed. “No, it’s so embarrassing, and you guys, I wouldn’t do it again. I would never waste that money on a vacation.
At the time of the heavy purchase, Schroeder thought she was making a good investment for her career.
“I was just in business mode, my book was coming out,” she said during Wednesday’s appearance. “I’m like, ‘I think that’s good branding, so it’s like I’m putting money into my career.’ That’s how I felt.
However, the Next Level Basic the author learned a year after buying the vacation that she would have to pay that amount again to keep the property.
“You’ve had it for a year, and I didn’t know it. And so the next year came and they were like you had to pay again and I think it was the exact same amount of money,” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘You crazy, this is a lifetime commitment. You think I’m gonna spend this every year? So now technically on the list, if you were to search for it, my name wouldn’t be there.
After the hard lesson, Schroeder expressed remorse for the trade decision. She admitted she didn’t care if people came looking for her because she ‘deserved’ it and had a lot of respect for those who ‘had’ the idea to buy a national holiday.
While the New Orleans native’s idea for her own vacation didn’t pan out, it did blossom in her personal life. Schroeder and her husband, Handsome Clark, are expecting their second child. (The couple, who wed in 2020 and 2022, share 2-year-old daughter Hartford.)
On Monday, June 12, the former reality TV star posed nude for her maternity photoshoot ahead of baby #2’s arrival. “Protesting a fit mama boy,” she captioned the series of photos via Instagram.
