The actor shared a triggering video on TikTok where she talks about sexual assault and the accusations the brothers made against their father Jose Menendez and the reason for his subsequent murder.
She posted the video with the caption “free the Menendez brothers – new evidence – #menudo #freethemenendezbrothers #resentence #enough”. The reason she is speaking out now is that another person has come forward to accuse her father of sexual assault.
The alleged assault happened to a former member of the Menudo band who met with Jose to help secure a music deal, but didn’t know what he was walking into.

O’Donnell wanted answers from her followers as she apparently has a history with the brothers specifically, Lyle Menendez. She revealed that in 1996, Lyle sent her a letter asking for her support.
His words exactly, “I know you know and I was hoping we could hook up.” She shared with her followers that she knew what he was talking about and believed the brothers were “innocent”. She went on to say. “I knew it was boys who were incested and why I knew that and how I knew that, Lyle knew that too.”
A bit of reading between the lines there, but the former talk show host hinted at her own similar trauma to the brothers. Initially, O’Donnell did not tell her that she was “scared” and “not ready to talk about it”.

She pivots to the documentary titled Menendez + Menudo: betrayed boys. The documentary that came out in recent months about Jose Menendez. The band’s Roy Rosello claimed that Jose also sexually assaulted him.
