Michael Cera’s recent interview with rolling stone revealed a lot, including having a marriage and divorce pact with Aubrey Plaza at some point. He also revealed his thoughts on a particular scene from the 2013 film, It is the endwhere Rihanna slaps him.
The two reportedly discussed the scene before it happened – as Cera’s character (playing himself) slaps Rihanna’s butt while she’s talking to Jason Segel, which results in her punching him in the face. “Shut the fuck up, Jason,” Cera replies in the original clip. “We are playing a game.”
As part of the story, Rihanna also agreed if she apparently had to fight back.
“I thought it would be a lot better if she hit me,” Cera said. “I don’t think it took a lot of conviction for her to do it. I just thought it would look a lot better than a fake slap because you can really feel it. It just looks a lot funnier!”
“The take that’s in the movie, it really hit my ear, which was disorienting,” he added. “But I have no regrets. I haven’t lost my hearing, fortunately!
