Luke Bryan struggles to balance his career and family time
Luke Bryan recently spoke with entertainment tonight and shared that he had a tough 2023. The “American Idol” judge revealed that he plans to allocate more family time with his wife, Caroline, and sons, Bo and Tate.
The country music star shared that it was difficult to balance her career and family time. He said, “I’m not well balanced this year.” Bryan also said he spoke to Caroline about the tough year he’s had so far.
He told her, “Baby, this is a tough year; let’s cross it, then we’ll find a boat and we’ll go to the Caribbean. When the interviewer replied that Bryan “always said that”, he laughed and replied that Caroline said the same thing.
Luke Bryan Says ‘American Idol’ Judges Are ‘Prepared’ For Fan Backlash
Bryan’s statements about his “difficult year” come amid controversy affecting “American Idol” judge Katy Perry. Perry has faced backlash on social media and is rumored to be considering quitting the TV show.
Bryan spoke about the backlash in a conversation with FoxNewssaying, “Katy Perry’s been dealing with stuff like this her entire career. We all get it…We judge the kids that people back home fall in love with. We’re not going to beat 1,000 as judges.
The country music star also opened up about the pressure of being a judge on the show, saying they are ‘prepared’ to be attacked by the fan base on social media. “I think we are settling down. As judges, you know, we come across the sword a lot,” Bryan noted.
“And sit where people can be heard on social media. My thing is, I think when me, Lionel and Katy sit in the office, in our hearts, we’re doing the best we can.
Earlier this month, former “American Idol” star Oliver Steele came to Perry’s defense against the backlash. Critics accused the singer of intimidating contestants with her judge’s remarks after performances.
Steele was a Season 21 runner-up and made an Instagram post claiming that Perry is not a “bully, and she doesn’t put people to shame.” During an interview on the “American Idol Unaired” podcast, he also called the “Dark Horse” singer a “wonderful person” and said she silently pushed him to improve.
Katy Perry thinks she was sabotaged by production
Steele’s remarks about Perry come after a source revealed to the Daily mail that she feels like the show’s producers “threw her under the bus.” According to the report, she believes they portrayed her in episodes as the “evil judge” of the contestants.
The source said: “She went into it thinking she would nurture young talent. Having her good intentions misinterpreted was not what she wanted. She has achieved so much in her career and is now seen as a mean reality TV judge.
They added that Perry was “distraught” at fans booing her, especially because she’s “just trying to stay in her lane, do her job and go home.” The insider explained that the singer “has wanted to come out for a while now” and was considering quitting the role, which rakes in around $25 million a year.
There were controversies over Katy Perry’s behavior
Perry has battled multiple controversies regarding his treatment of “American Idol” contestants. One such incident took place when the “Fireworks” singer allegedly shamed Sara Beth Liebe by saying the contestant was “laying on the table too much.”
At the time, Liebe spoke about Perry’s “hurtful” comments on TikTok and said, “I think it’s hard enough to be a mother, and it’s hard enough to be a woman. ” The singer eventually left the competition early to be home with her kids and, on Instagram, said she wasn’t mad at Perry.
Perry also got backlash from his treatment of contestants Nutsa Buzaladze and Carina DeAngelo. During the presentation of the show Hollywood Week, the singer told them both that their performances were disappointing.
Amid the controversies, a source spoke to Page 6 and said the singer had a “unique sense of humour”. They said Perry’s humor can be easily misinterpreted but “never has ill intent”. They added: “The backlash doesn’t bother Katy. It’s been a rollercoaster season with a lot of talent, so she’s just doing her job.
