The organizers of Levitation must have the same taste as Daniel Caesar, because two of Caesar’s first acts Superpowers World Tour will be BadBadNotGood and Flying Lotus. The two artists are also expected to headline the festival’s 2023 lineup.
The first wave of lineup was announced on Wednesday, June 28, and single-show tickets as well as four-day passes are available for purchase here.
Levitation will return to Austin, TX from October 26-29, and an accompanying press release revealed an update on the layout of the venue:
“In 2023, Levitation is expanding the sound spectrum and reach of the event with an eclectic lineup and the addition of two of Austin’s newest independent venues: electronic music destination Concourse Project and the Event Center in South Austin’s multi-story outdoor venue, The Far Out Lounge, where Austin Psych Fest took place in April. These new locations are in addition to Levitation’s traditional sites on the Red River and East Side, including the main stage Stubb’s Festival, and Red River and Eastside Mohawk staples, Empire, Hotel Vegas, Elysium, Parish, Antone’s and 13th Floor. The multi-site format encourages fans to choose their own adventure throughout the weekend -end.
The Flying Lotus Brainfeeder label will celebrate its 15th anniversary. Likewise, the independent label Numero Group will be presented for its 20th anniversary, with Unwound, Codeine, Karate and Chisel. Other festival headliners include OneOhTrix Point Never, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and The Black Angels.
Levitation teased that “the latest additions (including entire shows that have yet to be announced), light shows and video artists as well as DJ sets are still on the way.”
