Kyle Richards And Mauricio OumanskyPast comments from about their marriage status resurface in light of news from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills separation from the couple.
In April, the 54-year-old Bravo star spoke to Page 6 on how photos of her leaving the gym without a wedding ring sparked mixed speculation.
“A, I didn’t wear my big diamond ring, because there’s a lot of crime these days and I’m like, ‘I’m not comfortable.’ And B, I had just lifted weights in the gym, so I was like, ‘This stuff triggered this?'” Richards said at the time. “When this stuff happened before, I wanted to cry and I was devastated. But now I’m more like ‘OK, I’ve done this before’. Let’s do this. Bring it on. Come on. Let’s see what you got for me here. “
Although Richards insisted that she and Umansky were fine, she admitted that she was not looking forward to reliving the drama on season 13 of RHOBA premieres later this year.
“Obviously you don’t like it because when the show airs in six months I’ll deal with it and people will talk again and more fake stories and lies. I’m in my carefree time when it comes to that. For sure,” she said.
Richards and Umansky, who married in 1996, are parents to daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23 and Portia, 15. Richards also shares daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, with her ex-husband. Guraish Aljufrie.
“My reaction, I mean, is stories. That’s what always happens,” Farrah told her mom and stepdad’s outlet at the same event in April. “People will find something and try to make a story out of it. And I feel like at this point, we’ve been through so much already. I mean, who cares?
That same month, Umansky denied that he and Richards were “divorcing,” confirming Bravo cameras captured the chatter.
“[There’s] this stupid story that came out there and then all the girls, you know, decided to talk about it about housewives and so now it’s a story. So there are definitely some stories there and Kyle and I are talking about that and we’ll go from there. It is what it is,” the real estate mogul said on the “Two Ts In a Pod” podcast in April. “For [her costars] to bring it in and make it more real, bring it to the show… it just kinda sucks. So we solved it and that’s what it is,” he said. “I think, you know, to be on these shows, you have to be thick-skinned.”
A source confirmed We Weekly on Monday, July 3, that the duo “have been separated for a while, but are still living together currently.” The insider added that they “are amicable as they work out next steps.”
Hours later, Richards and Umansky again denied filing for divorce, acknowledging they were going through “the hardest part of our marriage.”
“Yes, we’ve had a tough year,” read their joint statement. “The hardest part of our marriage. But we love and respect each other enormously. There was no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask that we be able to resolve our issues privately. While it can be fun to speculate, please don’t create fake stories to fit another salacious narrative.
