Katy Perry had some viral moments on the final season of american idol (the show that may or may not have triggered the “fall of society”, according to which View host you request). For example, she blew up on TikTok a few months ago over some funny but lopsided behavior. It wasn’t all good, however, as she was accused of shaming her mother and later booed on the show. Fellow judge Luke Bryan, however, thinks Katy is doing just fine.
In a recent Fox News interview (as People notes), Bryan said, “Katy Perry has been dealing with things like this her entire career,” he said. “We all understand…I mean, we judge the kids that people back home fall in love with. We’re not going to hit 1,000 as judges. He also noted, “I think we’re settling down. As judges, you know, we often fall on the sword and try to make sure people can express themselves on social media and everything. My thing is, I think when me, Lionel and Katy sit in the office, in our hearts, we’re doing the best we can.
He continued: “Katy is chosen to go out and try to have fun doing a TV show. You can’t be so safe when you’re so homogenized, you can never crack a joke or have a moment. fun. Sometimes you just gotta say stuff. Maybe next year will be my year. It makes me appreciate her even more, how hard she’s had to deal with her entire career.
Former contestant Oliver Steele also recently came to her defense, writing on Instagram: “Katy is no bully, and she doesn’t put people to shame. I remember being nervous during my audition, nervous during Hollywood week, even nervous at different times during the competition. Katy has an incredible ability to not only tell what emotional state you are in, but also to tell what is holding you back. I love all judges, but Katy always seemed able to look into my soul and say exactly what was troubling me or what I was struggling with. It’s one thing to teach someone to believe in their abilities, and the judges are fabulous. Katy reminded me to believe in who I am as an artist. She challenged me to surpass myself, to take on challenges that made me feel uncomfortable. I’m a better musician and artist since Katy Perry pushed me to believe in my potential and push my limits.
