Jennifer Lawrence may have become a superstar with a franchise – The hunger Games, which she almost didn’t do because she didn’t want it to make her super famous — but she took a big risk. Right now, she’s trying to bring back the steamy summer comedy. But in 2017, she went very far: she starred in Darren Aronofsky mother!, a wild whatzit that pissed off and confused the audience. Heck, even Lawrence was confused about it and she was dating the director.
As caught by IndieWireLawrence appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenwhere his host asked him, point-blank, “On a scale of one to totally confused, how well did you understand your movie mother!?
“I’ll be honest,” Lawrence replied. “Well, I was sleeping with the director, so I had CliffsNotes. So…five? Or a four. But if anyone needs advice on understanding their movies, you know what to do.
“F*ck the director?” Cohen replied, to which Lawrence replied enthusiastically, “Yeah!”
Lawrence starred in Mother! During her one-and-a-half-year relationship with the acclaimed filmmaker, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swanand last year The whale.
