Dreamville Records is a creative family, so the news that label head J. Cole and signee Bas have teamed up for a soon-to-be-released new single comes as no surprise. That said, Bas’s latest statement on their upcoming track set the bar high.
Taking to Twitter, the emcee posted, “Gave my brother DJ Moma an exclusive summertime heater that J. Cole and I put together this week. Stop by my fam Everyday People in a city near you to hear it. The song is not coming out anywhere don’t watch.”

The duo have worked together in several different ways in the past. Bas has made several appearances on the Creed III soundtrack, which was produced by Cole. The couple also wrote a bunch of songs together, including 2021’s “The Jackie,” 2018’s “Tribe,” and 2016’s “Night.”
Bas’s debut single, “Diamonds”, from his forthcoming album, We only talk real shit when we’re screwed, was shared earlier this year. This upcoming release may also appear on the album, based on previous statements.
According to the event series website, the next episode of Everyday People will take place on July 1 in Detroit, Michigan. Find more information here.
