Everyone tramples on poor Grimace, and during his birthday party, nonetheless.
Trending wildly popular Grimace Shake TikTok tried the limited-time purple shake a lot at McDonald’s, then tragically ‘died’. The videos are horror filled, dramatic and get millions of views.
So what does McDonald’s think of all this interesting attention? They finally broke their silence on the unfortunate circumstances of their retro persona.
McDonald’s sees your TikTok videos but pretends not to!

It’s Grimace’s birthday and to celebrate, the fast food giant has created a special shake for the occasion. It’s purple and many don’t know what flavor it is. TikTokers are “dying” to try the new shake and share videos on the social media app that look like mini horror movies framing the well-known fast food character.
With so many videos using the #GrimaceShake hashtag, and over 600 million views to date, it’s hard for the fast food chain not to see what’s going on. They recently took to Instagram to announce they’ve seen it all.
Many McDonald’s social media followers left their comments on the trend.
“Watch me wince. Look me in the eye and tell me you can’t see it,” one follower wrote. Another added: “Grimace please let me out of the basement.”
Game Uno left the hilarious comment, “We couldn’t tell from your poker face 😉”, and TGI Friday’s wrote, “The only thing worse than being blind is having the sight but no sight.”
One person pointed out the benefit of the trend, saying, “You don’t even need a marketing team when people are crazy enough to do it themselves.”
TikTok is flooded with purple ‘deaths’

The trend seems to have been started by TikToker @thefrazmaz. Her video, shared on June 13, has received over 3 million views.
“First victim of shake face incident 😔,” one person wrote in the comments. Another added: “Where it started…”
Many other videos soon began to follow suit with the theme of horror and purple deaths. TikToker @Ryancantcook shared a video that received over 8.5 million views just a few days ago. His video includes a fight with a Grimace-like character doing his own house jerk, but still ended in his purple-filled untimely death.

TikToker Jordan The Stallion gave away the secret behind the Grimace Shake flavor

If you’ve never tried the shake, or are wondering what flavor it is, Jordan Howlett, better known as Jordan the Stallion on TikTok, has some insight to share as the self-proclaimed president of the Fast. -Food Secrets Club.
“As president of the Fast Food Secrets Club, people asked me to determine the flavor of the Grimace milkshake at McDonald’s,” he began his video. “People think it just tastes like vanilla, because when they taste it, they smell like vanilla. However, other people taste the berries. Now technically it’s both and you want to know why? It’s because of the fries.
Howlett explained that the job of McDonald’s sensory scientists is to “discover how to enhance or suppress flavors due to combinations.” He said if you eat the fries before tasting the shake, the flavor will be more berry, and if you have the shake without the fries, it will be more vanilla.

One of Howlett’s followers was confused, asking, “So you’re telling me there are people who eat McDonald’s and a fry doesn’t go straight into their mouth?”
Another follower wrote, “This is so good!!! Vanilla. Then fry. So it’s berries.
