Thinking of my brother and this honor conferred on him, first of all, I wish he were there to receive it. His absence was a point of immense pain for my whole family.

He continued, “But thinking of him, I think of how he honored our parents. How he honored even his friends, he made sure his friends had good careers too. How he honored every contract he signed except the last one, but he honored them with his blood, his sweat, his tears, as he played those roles and took chemo at the same time time.

Derrick added: “Chad was an amazing person. That he is honored today does not surprise me because he spent his life, from his childhood until today, always being recognized and receiving honors. He honored his widow. He was so strong that even in his last days, six days before his death, he honored his promise to her and he married her.

The emotional brother continued to praise his late brother and concluded by saying, “Thank you for honoring my brother. And I mean, Chad, we will always love you. And mom and dad will always love you. My mom was supposed to give this speech, but she gave it to me. And for me, mom and dad are also legends. Because it takes a king and a queen to create a king.
