Earlier this year, Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman announced that he was temporarily leaving the band. “Without disclosing all the details, I must disclose that my mental health has deteriorated rapidly over the past few years,” he wrote. “So to avoid fading away and never coming back, I’m going to take a break from my work, which unfortunately includes stepping away from Fall Out Boy for a while.”
The band have since released their new album So much (for) stardust (which had an unexpected feature of Ethan Hawke). Now Trohman is joining the band, according to his enthusiastic new Instagram post, which means he’s ready to hit the road for the huge Fall Out Boy tour with Bring Me The Horizon, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, and more. Again.
“Hi everyone,” he wrote in the caption, “I’m officially back! I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time off to focus on my brain and be healthy for my family, friends and myself. I also want to thank Ben Young for stepping up and completing the shows I missed – He is a true gentleman and scholar. I am thrilled to be back in action and can’t wait to see everyone on tour this summer!
