Elon Musk has a UFC champion lining up to train him, but first he threw in a podcaster (and a Jiu-Jitsu black belt) instead

Against the wishes of his mom and dad, Elon Musk has reportedly started training to fight his social media rival Mark Zuckerberg in a UFC cage match. Ever since the prospect of the cage fight surfaced last week, Musk has mostly made jokes about the whole thing. The Twitter CEO is fully aware that Zuckerberg has honed his skills in jiu-jitsu, and Musk has openly acknowledged that, if the fight ends, it “could go wrong” for him.

However, Musk has apparently started to take the ongoing fight more seriously. After joking that he would rely on his signature move, Morse“where I just lay down on my opponent and do nothing,” Musk apparently worked on his fighting skills with Lex Fridman. The podcaster recently shared a photo of the two training, or at least appearing to face off.

“Did an impromptu workout with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday,” Fridman tweeted. “I am extremely impressed with his strength, power and skill, on the feet and on the ground. It was epic. It’s really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is much better served if they train martial arts but don’t fight in the cage. That said, as Elon says, the more entertaining outcome is the more likely… I’m here for them no matter what.

While Musk mostly seems to be having fun with Fridman, the Twitter CEO has a UFC waiting in the wings. According to the New York Post, Georges St-Pierre offered to train Musk, who accepted the offer on Twitter. Whether the training session or the fight itself happens is anyone’s guess.

Meanwhile, Musk’s dad isn’t thrilled with his son’s latest stunt. Errol Musk recently said The sun that the fight is a “no way out situation”.

“If Elon beats this guy, Elon will be called a bully, being so much heavier and taller,” the elder Musk said. “Whereas if he lost, the humiliation would be total.”
