Drake’s OVO and MLS collab aim to ‘bridge the gap’ between football and street culture

Drake has found another way to tap into his love of sports. The collaboration between the “Search And Rescue” rapper’s OVO (October’s Very Own) label and Major League Soccer (MLS) is now available to the general public.

The limited-edition capsule collection pays tribute to three league teams. The iconic colors of the Toronto Football Club, New York City Football Club and Los Angeles Football Club (red, sky blue and black) are present on the sportswear. The range of hoodies, t-shirts, track shorts and socks will primarily feature the brand’s unique owl logo and a distinct font type.

In a statement, the organization further explained why the cartoon was selected for the collaboration, saying, “Cartoon began his career as a graffiti artist in Los Angeles before branching out into murals. , album covers, logos and now best known for his tattoos.His richly detailed, hand-crafted designs draw much of their inspiration from the youth of Los Angeles of Cartoon.At one time, noir style and thin-lined gray was synonymous with street life in Los Angeles, and Cartoon’s work helped bridge the gap between those rocky beginnings and the style’s current global popularity.

The new MLS x OVO capsule is now available online. However, the items will be made available in person at BMO Field for Toronto FC fans. Find more information here.
