The Walt Disney Company announced that it would restore nearly 30 old cartoons and repost them on its streaming service, Disney+.

Disney+ has announced that it will be re-releasing 28 of its recently restored old Walt Disney Animation Studios classics, starting Friday, July 7. The cartoons will feature iconic characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The studio’s first character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, will also be introduced. Walt Disney Animation Studios is celebrating its 100th anniversary and will be releasing the cartoons as part of the ongoing Disney100 celebration.

According to Disney, “The restorations were led by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration and Preservation Team, led by director Kevin Schaeffer, working closely with creative advisors from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The latter included Dorothy McKim, producer of special projects and 2D animation, as well as color supervision by Mike Giaimo and animator Eric Goldberg.This same team recently restored Cinderella and is currently working on the restoration of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The newly restored cartoons will range from some of Disney’s first theatrical shorts to popular ones like “The Skeleton Dance.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Kevin Schaeffer and the Studio’s restoration team to present these beautifully restored versions of classic Disney animated shorts,” said Dorothy McKim, per Disney. “Two of our top artistic talents have lent their expertise and passion to the project to ensure the films are at their best and are authentic to the creative intentions of the original filmmakers. We are very excited to share these stunning shorts with the public. from Disney+. They’ve never looked better or sounded better.

A full list of Disney cartoons has been announced. The following comics will be released on Friday, July 7:

  • “The Skeleton Dance” (1929)
  • “Building a Building” (1933)
  • “Bath Day” (1946)
  • Figaro and Frankie (1947)
  • “Dingo Gymnastics” (1949)
  • “Aquamania” (1961)

The premiere on Friday, August 11 will be as follows:

  • “Barnyard Olympics” (1932)
  • “Mickey’s Steam Roller” (1934)
  • “Donald’s Nephews” (1938)
  • “Goofy and Wilbur” (1939)
  • “Gus, Donald’s Cousin” (1939)
  • “The flying clunker” (1943)

From September 5 to 8, Disney+ will release the following cartoons:

  • “Carriage Troubles” (1927)
  • “All Wet” (1927)
  • “The Barn Dance” (1929)
  • “Playful Pluto” (1934)
  • “Mickey’s Kangaroo” (1935)
  • “Merbabies” (1938)
  • “Bone Trouble” (1940)
  • “Pluto, Junior” (1942)

And on Friday, October 6, the latest batch of Disney cartoons will hit the streaming service, which includes:

  • “When the Cat Gone” (1929)
  • “I Tinker” (1930)
  • “Camping” (1934)
  • “Blink, Blynken and Nod” (1938)
  • “Old Macdonald Duck” (1941)
  • “Lower Decorator” (1948)
  • “Chips Ahoy” (1956)

The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and to celebrate, Disney is hosting the festivities at Disneyland Resort in California.

Some of the things viewers can see from the Disneyland Resort include the all-new “World of Color – ONE” and “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime shows, the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction, an exciting new exhibit, and more.
