Colin Jost Says He Was ‘Stone-Cold Sober’ When He Bought Staten Island Ferry With Pete Davidson (Who Was ‘Very Stoned’)

Last year Pete Davidson and Colin Jost bought a boat. It wasn’t just any boat: they bought an old Staten Island ferry. the old SNL his colleagues – along with comedy club owner Paul Italia – reportedly offered $280,000 for the ferry, with plans to turn it into a live entertainment space. It sounds like the kind of lavish, creative purchase people make when they’re out of their minds. Sure enough, Davidson recently admitted he was “really stoned” when he agreed to do it. Jost doesn’t have the same excuse.

“Is it worse that I was really sober when we bought the ferry?” Jost revealed in an Instagram post, according to Weekly entertainment.

Jost then teased all the exciting things he, Davidson and Italia have planned for their new ferry. “We are thrilled to prove non-believers wrong,” he wrote. “You are going to REMOVE getting on this ferry in two years. Listen to me carefully.”

It is possible that the Davidson-Jost-Italia ferry will become a destination ship, but that night still needs some work. The boat, former crew members revealed last year, was, at least at that time, still awash with rats and asbestos. Maybe they’ve cleared all that up in the meantime, but Davidson makes it sound like they probably haven’t.

“I have no idea what’s going on with this thing,” Davidson said of revealing how baked he was when he bought it. According to him, they were, last week, still “understanding”.

So what will come first: Will Pete Davidson, Colin Jost and Paul Italia clean up their ferry and create New York’s coolest aquatic vessel? Or will Davidson make amends with PETA?
