The media personality is best known as the wife of award-winning singer John Legend. However, the 37-year-old does not live in her husband’s shadow as she has gained influential status through her activities in the entertainment industry.
As a public figure, the Utah native is frequently placed on the scrutiny platform to live her way. The hornet’s nest of criticism recently came for the entertainer after a Pasadena-based doctor claimed she had done a lousy job.
Famed plastic surgeon Dr. Kay Durairaj calls out Chrissy Teigen for botched procedure
A doctor named Dr Kay Durairaj has caused a stir on social media after sharing his views on the ‘Bring the Funny’ judge. Taking to her Instagram page, the woman told her 355,000 followers that the TV personality had fallen victim to botched cosmetics.
According to her BeautybyDrKay website, the cosmetologist was an internationally recognized USC and UCLA trained surgeon. Using this accumulated knowledge of cosmetic procedures, the doctor dissected Teigen’s supposedly enhanced beauty.
In her since-deleted video, titled “Have you seen the ‘new face’ of Chrissy Teigen?”, the KD Skincare founder shared a photo of the former “Deal Or No Deal” briefcase model. The snap captured the artist’s cheeks looking much bigger, a growth that Durairaj attributes to poor fillers.
“Well, this picture is going viral. Look at Chrissy Teigen’s face, lots of volume in her face,” the facial doctor began. “That’s what injectors need to improve. I don’t like puffy, overfilled faces.
“Does anyone need to look pasty, puffy and overfilled like that?” the cosmetologist slammed the Utah native’s photo before adding, “No, injecting is an art and over reliance on hyaluronic gel fillers, not enough building foundation, skin structure and of support can give you that puffy, puffy effect.”
Durairaj also shared Teigen’s old photo, saying the vixen from the “All of Me” music video looked more natural before getting her cheeks filled in. The “Beauty Bytes” podcaster concluded his post by promoting his plastic surgery services, noting that his clients need not “be afraid of fillers.”
The doctor promised that his procedures would leave people feeling the positive effects of good fillers, including a “natural and beautiful” appearance. The post was captioned with a long message, in which the surgeon claimed to have no animosity towards Teigen.
“This message is not based on bad intentions. This is simply to discuss overfilling and its possible consequences. There is too much reliance on hyaluronic gel fillers and not enough focus on building the foundation, skin structure and support,” reads the cosmetologist’s disclaimer.
Durairaj reiterated that her goal was to raise awareness of lousy filler procedures, which she said were responsible for the “puffy, puffy effect.” Despite his supposedly good intentions, his unsubstantiated allegations against Teigen did not fit the model.

In response to Durairaj’s claims on her face, the “Lip Sync Battle” star took to her Instagram Story to clear the air. Re-sharing the unflattering video, Teigen applauded the doctor for attributing his swollen cheeks to harmful fillers. Lamenting how the cosmetologist’s words broke her heart, the artist wrote:
“You are rude as f**k, doc. I’ve always been honest, never had anything on my cheeks, so now I feel lousy and bad. THANKS!”
The ‘Chrissy’s Court’ star’s jokes didn’t stop there as she called out Durairaj for her insensitive caption. “‘No mean intent’??? But saying that could be your face if you do it wrong? You’re a piece of shit. I’ve gained weight,” the mother-of-three exclaimed.
In her slideshow, the Grammy winner’s wife shared screenshots of fans’ reactions to the plastic surgeon’s claims and sarcastically thanked the doctor for causing the backlash. Moved by the BeautybyDrKay founder’s words, many criticized Teigen for having a sloppy face.
“He’s a bad person, so it’s just his karma,” someone said. This hateful post received support from others who agreed that the “Snack Off” judge deserved his fate. “She has the face she deserves,” wrote another troll.
“She was beautiful before…I don’t know why she destroyed her face like that…” a third person wondered as others praised Durairaj for revealing the alleged truth behind the face from Teigen. Shouts of “Ouissss Dr. Kay” and “Tell them sis!!” took over the comments section.
