After 6 seasons of conspiracy and weasel, the 7th and final season of Billions promises to wrap things up with a big bow made from a single rare silkworm and sewn by hand by century-old master bow craftsmen. It’s been a remarkable run watching several tag and also tag games play out on the seedy Wall Street playground, and now that the show has swelled into a nice package, it’s ready to burst.
Here is the official synopsis of the final season teaser:
“In season seven, alliances are turned upside down. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become suspicious friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes rise from Wall Street to the world.
Naturally, Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll and Maggie Siff are back to star alongside former exile Ax (Damian Lewis). Although Stoll did the work of a yeoman to fill the void, this story was always meant to end with Chuck and the wily billionaire (whether face-to-face or as a team).
The season lands on Paramount+ for subscribers with the Showtime package on August 11 before an official Showtime launch on August 13. Plus, Showtime doesn’t want the party to end. They hired creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien to build the Billionspours in with multiple projects on ostensibly greedy people, so we can continue to bask in witty dialogue with tax evaders who eat sushi that costs more than our rent.
