Warning: slight spoilers for Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse before.
It’s not enough to just go to the movies anymore, you have to be prepared to sit on the names of every hard working person who took the time of their busy life to make that movie for you. And for good reason! These films require a lot of work and dedication. It’s no wonder Todd Field decided to put them in at the start of TÁR just to make sure you knew exactly who to blame for the possible ensuing panic attack.
But now, it seems like every movie wants you to stick around in hopes of some sort of post-credits scene that either sets up the next movie or gives you that long-awaited cameo you’ve been looking for. Even if Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse is a (really good) superhero movie, it doesn’t have that self-imposed Marvel requirement of a post or mid-credits scene. In fact, the film has none at all.
That being said…the film ends with a confirmation that Miles Morales will return in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse who picks up where Through the Spider-Verse ends. This movie hits theaters on March 24, 2024, so you don’t have to wait an entire calendar year to thrill your senses again.
Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse hits theaters June 2, 2023.
