Apparently Bonnaroo Festival Goers Keep Accidentally Calling Moshing Cops Too Loud

Bonnaroo appears to be getting even wilder this year after reports surfaced of iPhone users accidentally calling the authorities.

One of Apple’s latest features is crash detection and automatic alerts for help when “extreme acceleration or deceleration” occurs according to Stereogum.

These calls must have been widespread from cellphone and Apple Watch owners, as Manchester Police released a statement on social media. “MPD responded to multiple accidental 911 calls in Bonnaroo,” they wrote. “It’s likely that these calls are the result of ‘Crash Detection Mode’, a new feature on Apple iPhones. Be aware and consider disabling this feature on your phone until Bonnaroo ends.

Bonnaroo’s festival account took the advice a step further by telling viewers how to turn the feature off – given they were probably either unaware of it or automatically called the police. “Let’s work as a team to solve this problem!” You can take action by going to Settings > Emergency SOS and turning off the ‘crash’ feature,” they tweeted.

Following the news, a few other music lovers on social media had some thoughts and reactions to all the crash detections going on there. (Too moshing, it seems.)

See some of those reactions below.
