The long-simmering animosity between 50 Cent and Ja Rule peaked nearly 20 years ago, but that hasn’t stopped the former from fanning the embers from time to time. He got his last chance this week thanks to Ja’s dramatic entrance before his set at Nelly’s Not in Herre Festival in Toronto. After Ja was brought to the stage on a stretcher accompanied by paramedics, 50 jumped at the chance to troll his longtime nemesis again.
On his own Instagram, 50 shared a screenshot of a previous stretcher entry by R&B singer Ginuwine from an old BET episode. 106 & Parkby associating it with a XXL title on Ja’s entry. In the caption, he wrote, “WTF. Gotta not say shit, stupid n****s,” replacing the N-word with a ninja emoji — a popular replacement online for those in the know. Meanwhile, Ja Rule appeared to respond on Twitter, writing, “All this internet back and forth n**** we don’t play tennis…YOU MUST DO SOMETHING!!!” and insinuating that he lives in the head of the “rentless” 50s. When in doubt about the recipient, he then retweeted a fan’s reply which read, “50 Cent has been obsessed with Ja since 1999. It’s like he’s crazy because he’s never been part of it.” from the big box Def Jam 99, he went after every big name from Jay-Z to Nas. And now he’s constantly trying to make Mock Ja and MurderInc reign supreme. To Me, the only reason he can’t get over it is FEAR.”

@50 cents has been obsessed with Ja since 1999. It’s like he’s crazy because he’s never been part of the big Def Jam 99 area, he’s tackled every big name from Jay-Z to Nas. Considering where the two ended up, I don’t know how seriously we can take this theory, but it’s kind of funny/sad that the 50s maintains a mostly one-sided 20-year grievance in which most observers the would call the winner. Ja even gets trolled by totally neutral parties, so it’s not like it’s a fair fight at this point. But 50 is going to be 50, so perhaps the best thing for Ja is to just ignore it and keep tuning in.
