Disney+ Announces Hulk Episode, Will All Bruce Banner Stories Be Shown?

The Incredible Hulk has come a long way in the MCU. Given the role of the Hulk that was first played by Edward Norton of Fight Club, the role quickly resurfaced but was replaced with Mark Ruffalo in 2012’s The Avengers.

And now, Dr. Bruce Banner will mentor his equally gamma-powered cousin Jennifer Walters on Marvel Studios’ upcoming streaming show, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Typically, when a new MCU series or movie is added to Disney+, the streaming service will launch a new episode of Marvel Studios: Legends.

These videos serve as short-form recaps of everything certain characters have done leading up to their latest adventures.

As seen a week before Hawkeye premieres in late 2021, an episode of Legends was released with a focus on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton.

The Legends episode features footage from all of his previous appearances in the film, such as Thor and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

It seems that with the She-Hulk series just around the corner, Marvel will be holding on to the trend. Will Bruce Banner receive his Legend Episode?

According to a new chart posted by Disney+’s official Twitter account in Italy, the streamer will release a new episode of Marvel Studios Legends on Wednesday, August 10.

This special episode is titled “Bruce Banner” and will take viewers through most of the Hulk’s appearances in the MCU ahead of She-Hulk’s premiere on Thursday, August 18.

So will all Banner stories be included?

The big question here is if Disney+ intends to catch the audience about Bruce and Hulk’s exploits in the MCU, does that include 2008’s The Incredible Hulk?

It’s hard to decide. As noted above, in the film, Banner is played by Edward Norton who has since been replaced with Mark Ruffalo in all subsequent projects featuring the character.

Marvel usually doesn’t like to acknowledge Norton in any way or form in its promotional videos.

However, they have shown a willingness to use footage from films featuring the Hulk himself, as he is a completely CGI character.

With She-Hulk: Attorney at Law set to feature the Incredible Hulk villain, Abomination, in a sizeable capacity. One would think that Marvel would have chosen to use a scene from the film showing the final battle between the Hulk and Abomination.

Because both characters are digitally created and they don’t actually need to show Norton’s face on the screen.

It’s also worth noting that The Incredible Hulk has been added to Disney+ in some international territories, so perhaps the platform will be more willing to allow footage from the film in an episode of Legends.

Bruce’s role in She-Hulk seems very significant. Jen got her powers by accidentally drawing some of her blood during a car accident and it looks like Bruce took it himself to train her the Hulk way.

Most of what Banner fans see in trailers and promos has the character on a tropical island or in the lab, so it’ll be interesting to see if he teams up with Jennifer during the show’s final battle or if she stays.

Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will premiere on Disney+ on Thursday, August 18.
