8 villains in the MCU created by Tony Stark’s mistakes

Tony Stark, is the first superhero to appear in the MCU through his solo film. He is also an important figure in the Avengers team and has an important role in the Infinity Saga. As a superhero, Tony Stark always does good, sacrificing himself for the sake of many people.

Despite being a selfless hero who saved the world more than once, Tony Stark is also a human who has made mistakes. Sometimes Tony Stark’s mistakes backfire on himself.

His mistakes can create a villain or villain who hates him. Here are 8 villains in the MCU that were created because of Tony Stark’s fault.

  1. Iron Monger

Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) is Howard Stark’s (Tony Stark’s father) business partner at Stark Industries. Obadiah was jealous because the next CEO of Stark Industries was Tony Stark, not him. His power-hungry attitude made him ask for the help of the Ten Rings organization to kidnap and kill Tony.

However, Tony decided to fight Obadiah by using the armor he created with the armor and eventually switched from weapons production to an Iron Man suit for military use.

  1. Ivan Vanko

Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) is the son of a scientist who worked with Howard Stark until he was deported when he brought the design of the first arc reactor to the black market.

Despite being considered one of the worst villains in the MCU, Ivan Vanko spent most of his life hating the Stark family, choosing to target Tony Stark as he rose to prominence as Iron Man.

Even though Tony will be the target, Ivan Vanko fails because of his selfish attitude which thinks that no one else can build an arc reactor other than him. Despite being considered one of the weakest villains, Vanko calls himself a hero.

  1. Justin Hammer

Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) is a military contractor for Hammer Industries and a rival to Stark Industries. As a competitor in the military industry, Justin Hammer wanted to improve his position by trying to discredit Tony by creating the Iron Man costume.

Frustrated at failing and unable to compete with Tony and Stark Industrie, Justin desperately recruits Ivan Vanko as his ally. Their goal is to destroy Tony Stark and destroy Stark Industries.

  1. Aldrich Killian

Killian (Guy Pearce) is an arrogant, arrogant, but passionate researcher in military research. Growing up insecure over his physical disability, he tries his best to utilize his scientific intelligence to help him overcome his shortcomings.

When his idol, Tony Stark, shows no interest in joining his research, Killian becomes angry and resentful of Tony. Tony deliberately ignores Killian and his research.

  1. Zemo

Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) is angry with the Avengers for losing his family in the battle in Sokovia. Although they managed to defeat Ultron, Zemo was not satisfied with the lack of acknowledgment of the lives lost, he then split the Avengers by creating an internal conflict.

Instead of being held accountable for their actions that sparked the battle in Sokovia, the Avengers are seen as heroes.

Since Ultron is the result of Tony’s attempts to put a suit of armor around the world, the death of the Zemo family and subsequent actions are the result of Tony’s wrong decisions.

  1. Vulture

Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) aka Vulture turns to the side of crime after losing his job after the battle of New York. He began stealing the Chitauri technology used in the battle, refining it and becoming a weapon he could sell on the black market.

Although Tony Stark created damage control to clean up the mess, he was ultimately responsible for the damage caused by the space attack.

Toomes resented Tony because this brought his company out of business, affecting his long-term income and livelihood.

  1. Mysterio

Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal) originally worked for Stark Industries. He developed the holographic technology that was first introduced in the film Captain America: Civil War. It is revealed that Beck hates Tony because Tony renamed Beck’s invention to B.A.R.F (Binily Augmented Retro-Framing).

Beck was eventually fired from Stark Industries. His intention to become the next Iron Man is rooted in his hatred for Tony Stark who has already claimed his invention.

  1. Ultron

Ultron (James Spader) is an artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner that was originally intended for the peacekeeping program. However, when he was born, Ultron considered humanity the greatest threat to peace.

Although Tony’s action to create Ultron stems from a fear of another extraterrestrial attack that could threaten humanity, his actions pose a far greater threat to all of humanity.

The Avengers team did manage to stop Ultron, but there was a lot of damage done and many victims died in the battle in Sokovia.

The names of the villains above are characters who really hate Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Even though he often does good things, Tony Stark is not free from mistakes.
